The Seattle Seahawks recently released safety Jamal Adams, and based on Adams’ social media activity, he seems to be pushing for a reunion with the New York Jets.

But apparently, the feelings are not reciprocated.

According to Connor Hughes of SNY, the Jets have “zero” interest in bringing back Adams, whom the franchise traded to the Seahawks in July 2020.

Adams, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by New York with the sixth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed a solid rookie campaign, playing in every game and registering 83 tackles, a couple of sacks, a forced fumble, a pair of fumble recoveries and six passes defended.

Then, the following year, Adams broke out, racking up 115 tackles, 3.5 sacks, an interception, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, 12 passes defended and a defensive touchdown. He made the Pro Bowl for his efforts.

He made his second straight Pro Bowl appearance the following season after rattling off 75 tackles, 6.5 sacks, a pick, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, seven passes defended and two defensive touchdowns. He also earned a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The Jets proceeded to trade him to Seattle that ensuing offseason, and in his debut campaign in Seattle, Adams was very impressive, recording 83 tackles and 9.5 sacks en route to his third straight Pro Bowl nod. However, he was limited to just 12 games.

Since then, Adams has been a complete bust for the Seahawks. He appeared in just 12 contests in 2021, and over the last two years, he has participated in a grand total of 10 games.

New York is in need of a safety with Jordan Whitehead getting set to hit the free-agent market next week, but it doesn’t seem like it views Jamal Adams as the answer.

How times have changed.
