Green Bay Packers
If you’re Aaron Rodgers, it’s got to be a bit disappointing that the front office failed to surround you with better weapons this offseason. Rather than take a much-needed pass-catcher in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers elected to trade up to select Jordan Love — Rodgers’ eventual replacement at quarterback.
Before the draft took place, the only wideout that the Packers added to the roster was Devin Funchess — who is coming off of a season where he played in one game with the Indianapolis Colts. Therefore, outside of Davante Adams, Green Bay features a receiving corps that is made up of a bunch of unknowns.
Heading into next season, the Packers are fully committing to the idea that either Funchess, Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jake Kumerow, or Equanimeous St. Brown will become viable options in the passing attack. Instead of relying on the unknown, the Packers should sign Gabriel, allowing him to become a valuable asset for Rodgers.
