Travis Kelce
The top spot didn’t end up going to the Kansas City Chiefs star in this particular rankings list. However, it’s clear there is a legitimate case that can be made for Travis Kelce being the top tight end in the NFL considering his dynamic impact as a receiving threat, but the No. 2 spot is understandable, too.
There were only three players in the NFL that recorded more receiving yards than Kelce’s total of 1,229 in 2019. It starts with Michael Thomas (1,725) then is followed up by Julio Jones (1,394) and Chris Godwin (1,333) with Kelce not far behind.
It doesn’t take long to recognize the impressive nature of Kelce’s contributions to the Chiefs’ passing attack over the years. He became the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach 450 receptions and 6,000 receiving yards late last season.
There is little to reason to believe Kelce won’t follow up on his impressive production in 2020. In fact, he could end up producing more since Patrick Mahomes missed a pair of performances with an injury and played through limitations after returning much quicker than anticipated.
