NFL Analyst Rips Dallas Cowboys Over Contract Extensions

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t done a whole lot this offseason, drawing the ire of fans and media pundits alike.

One of the main things people expected the Cowboys to do is try to extend some of their own players, namely quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and edge rusher Micah Parsons.

Dallas has not gotten anything accomplished along that front, and it doesn’t even seem like it is close to reaching a resolution with any of those guys.

NFL analyst Ross Tucker recently sounded off on the Cowboys’ lack of activity, saying they need to be more like other teams around the league.

Dallas entered the offseason with significant financial constraints and had to do some maneuvering to get under the salary cap before the new league year, so it’s not like this was ever going to be easy for Jerry Jones and Co.

But the lack of overall initiative on the part of the Cowboys has been frustrating for many.

As of right now, Dallas appears comfortable heading into next season with Prescott on the last year of his deal. He is apparently asking for $60 million annually, and the Cowboys seem like they would prefer to allow him to test free agency next March rather than ponying up that much money up front.

For that, it’s hard to blame Dallas, especially considering that it also needs to worry about paying Lamb and Parsons.

However, things have stalled along the Lamb front, as well, as Lamb seems to be on his way to holding out of training camp if the Cowboys are not able to strike a new deal with him. Lamb is entering the final year of his contract and is coming off of a monster 2023 campaign in which he was named a First-Team All-Pro.

Then you have Parsons, who evidently has rubbed some within Dallas’ organization the wrong way. Or at least that’s what a recent report said.

Parsons just became eligible for an extension this offseason, so the Cowboys have more time to get things ironed out with him.

All of that being said, Dallas’ silence over this last month-and-a-half has been deafening.
