NFL Exec Reveals Bold Trade Prediction For Vikings’ Kirk Cousins

There has been a whole lot of trade chatter surrounding Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins over the first three weeks of the season, and it’s entirely understandable.

The Vikings have gotten off to an 0-3 start, and Cousins is in the final year of his deal. For that reason, many have surmised that Minnesota could blow things up by trading Cousins, acquiring some draft capital and starting over in 2024.

However, that has been more fan and media speculation than anything else, as nothing concrete has surfaced as far as the Vikings having legitimate trade discussions with other teams involving Cousins.

Well, it may be time to put all of that speculation to bed.

A former NFL executive has told the NFL Analysis Network that Minnesota has no intention of trading its veteran signal-caller.

“Kirk isn’t going anywhere. Stop with these ridiculous rumors,” said the former exec. “He’s putting up huge numbers and the Vikings still very much believe in him.”

Cousins certainly is putting up huge numbers.

The 35-year-old leads the NFL in completions, passing yards and passing touchdowns thus far and boasts a robust passer rating of 108.2. Plus, he is completing 69.6 percent of his throws.

Cousins initially joined the Vikings as a free agent back in 2018. Since linking up with the club, he has made three trips to the Pro Bowl and has thrown for 30 or more touchdowns three times.

Last year, Cousins finished with 4,547 yards, 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions before ultimately falling to the New York Giants in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

Minnesota’s lack of postseason success with Kirk Cousins under center has been puzzling, given how productive Cousins has been during his time with the franchise.

The Vikings will look to grab their first win of 2023 when they face the Carolina Panthers in a battle of winless teams on Sunday.
