NFL Exec Reveals Bombshell Intel On Cowboys’ Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys have reached a stalemate with quarterback Dak Prescott in contract talks and appear prepared to head into 2024 with Prescott playing out the final year of his deal.

There is still plenty of time for the Cowboys to strike a long-term pact with Prescott, but some feel that Dallas will feel perfectly comfortable allowing Prescott to test free agency next offseason.

A former NFL executive tells the NFL Analysis Network that not only are the Cowboys willing to do that, but they may simply move on from Prescott entirely if he doesn’t lead Dallas to a Super Bowl appearance.

“There’s a lot of questions around the Cowboys and Dak,” the former exec said. “From what I’ve heard, Jerry Jones has decided that he’s moving on from Dak if the Cowboys don’t get to the Super Bowl. If he comes up short, Dallas will have a new quarterback next season.”

The Cowboys have not won a Super Bowl since the 1995-96 campaign, which also marks the last time the franchise even made it to the NFC Championship Game.

Since then, Dallas has won just four playoff games and has not made it past the Divisional Round.

Prescott has logged two of those wins, but he has gone just 2-5 in the postseason overall. Most recently, he and the Cowboys fell to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round this past January.

The 30-year-old is coming off of the best year of his career, as he led the NFL with 36 touchdown passes to go along with 4,516 yards and just nine interceptions. He completed 69.5 percent of his throws while posting a passer rating of 105.9 and finished second in MVP voting.

Prescott is now said to be seeking a deal worth $60 million annually, which seems too rich for Dallas’ blood. It may prove too much for any team.

We’ll see if 2024 ends up being Dak Prescott’s final year in a Cowboys uniform.
