NFL Exec Reveals Dark-Horse Trade Suitor For Bears’ Justin Fields

As we get deeper into the 2023 NFL campaign, trade speculation surrounding Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is getting stronger and stronger.

While Fields did put together an impressive performance in his club’s Week 4 loss to the Denver Broncos, going 28-for-35 with 335 yards, four touchdowns and an interception, the Bears are now 0-4 and seem like very likely candidates to end up with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft.

Should Chicago end up with the top selection, chances are, it would take USC quarterback Caleb Williams, which would spell an end to Fields’ tenure in the Windy City.

But where could Justin Fields potentially end up if the Bears do in fact trade him?

A former NFL executive mentioned a very interesting landing spot in talking with the NFL Analysis Network this week.

“A lot of people have talked about the Falcons. I’m going to throw another team out there. Keep an eye on the Pittsburgh Steelers if Kenny Pickett doesn’t get things turned around this season,” the former exec said.

The Steelers have gotten off to a 2-2 start, but they rank 29th in the league in offense and 30th in defense, so their prognosis for the remainder of the season doesn’t look too great.

Pickett is now in his second season and has shown very little progression from what was a rough rookie campaign. He also suffered a knee injury in Week 4, leaving his status for Pittsburgh’s Week 5 showdown with the Baltimore Ravens up in the air.

Many feel that Fields has not been utilized properly in Chicago, so perhaps a change of scenery would do him a world of good? The Steelers certainly have a better organization than the Bears, as they have not posted a losing season since 2003.

Maybe Mike Tomlin can help get Justin Fields’ career turned around.
