The New York Jets suffered a crushing blow with the loss of Aaron Rodgers. For the team, what’s next at the quarterback position?

The start of the 2023 season for the Jets brought a ton of mixed feelings for the team and the organization. There was arguably no team in the NFL with more hype than the Jets coming into the season, but that hype was largely cooled despite an amazing win against the Buffalo Bills.

Just four plays into his Jets career, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was taken to the ground which resulted in him tearing his Achilles. The injury means that Rodgers will miss the rest of the season and the rest of his career is very much in question.

For New York, the team was still able to beat the Bills, but now have a major question mark at the quarterback position. Recently, Josina Anderson spoke about some potential options for the Jets at quarterback.

As of now, the Jets have Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle on the roster at the quarterback position. Wilson will be given the opportunity once again to prove himself, and it feels like it will be a make-or-break year for Wilson.

While the Jets will give Wilson a chance, they have to bring in someone to replace Rodgers for the rest of the season, and potentially play meaningful games for the team. Nothing Wilson has done in the NFL so far that can make the organization feel comfortable with him starting.

The list that Anderson shows isn’t ideal for the Jets, but some names on there have won games in the NFL and could be a potentially better option than Wilson if he struggles like last season.

Anderson seems to like the options of Taylor Heinke or Colt McCoy. And judging by the names on the list, it’s hard to argue against those two, as they have played recently in the league and are capable of managing a game.

For the Jets, Wilson will be the guy against the Dallas Cowboys, but depending on his performance, the team will have to look at all avenues to try and find out what gives the team their best chance to win.
