NFL Insider Reveals Major Trade Intel On Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears have gotten off to a 2-5 start this season, and as a result, many are expected them to be sellers between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.

However, it’s looking like the Bears may not be very active in trade talks at all.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, Chicago is not in love with the idea of trading players away for mid-round draft picks. Jones notes that the Bears dealt defenders Robert Quinn and Roquan Smith at last year’s deadline, but we probably won’t be seeing a repeat of such activity this time around.

Of course, that is subject to change, but as of right now, Chicago looks like it will stand pat.

There had been speculation that the Bears could move pieces such as wide receiver Darnell Mooney or cornerback Jaylon Johnson, as both young players are set to hit free agency in the offseason. There was even some chatter that Chicago could place quarterback Justin Fields on the trade block, but that always seemed to be rooted more in fantasy than reality.

Plus, to be fair to the Bears, the club has been playing much better football over the last several weeks.

Chicago has gone 2-1 over its last three games, most recently routing the Las Vegas Raiders by a score of 30-12 on Sunday afternoon. That win came with Fields sidelined due to a thumb injury. Rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent led the Bears to the victory, and he has been pegged as the starter until Fields recovers.

You could also argue that Chicago could be 3-1 over its last four contests, as it blew a 21-point lead in a devastating loss to the Denver Broncos back in Week 4.

The Bears seemed like prime contenders for the No. 1 overall draft pick earlier in the season, but their recent play has somewhat bucked that notion, especially with the Carolina Panthers sitting at 0-6.

Chicago will look to continue its winning ways when it takes on the Los Angeles Chargers next weekend.
