During Wednesday’s media session, Washington’s head coach Jedd Fisch, along with offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll and defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, the son of legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, addressed reporters.

When Steve Belichick took the podium, he was inevitably questioned about the parallels between himself and his father, renowned coach Bill Belichick.

While acknowledging some similarities, he couldn’t resist injecting a playful jab at his dad.

“I have a job and he doesn’t.”

This light moment from Steve arrives amidst speculation, fueled by media insider Andrew Marchand, suggesting that he has declined several broadcasting opportunities from various networks.

However, there’s a potential avenue with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions for the upcoming season, indicating that the esteemed coach might still explore broadcasting.

“While ESPN continues to pursue Bill Belichick, Belichick has told networks he is disinclined to be part of a regular studio show, according to officials briefed on the talks. ESPN could combine with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and NFL Films to secure the legendary coach for a broadcasting role.”

It appears that Steve Belichick is intent on avoiding commitment to a broadcasting role, potentially to keep his options open for re-entering the NFL head coaching arena next year.

In the meantime, it’s worth noting that his son currently holds the sole coaching position in the family.

All of that being said, don’t be surprised to see Bill Belichick back on the NFL sidelines as a head coach in the 2025 NFL season. There will be plenty of teams with interest in him next offseason.
