Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is only in his third NFL season, but he has already established himself as one of the best players in the league.

Through two games in 2023, Parsons has already logged seven tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, playing a pivotal role in the Cowboys’ 2-0 start.

Last week, Parsons displayed his talent in Dallas’ 30-10 win over the New York Jets, totaling four tackles, a couple of sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

While Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was sidelined as he recovers from the Achilles injury he suffered in Week 1, he still got a first-hand look at Parsons and came away very impressed.

“He’s just such a dynamic guy in a short space. He’s a special special player,” Rodgers sat on The Pat McAfee Show. “We were fortunate last year. We played him, you know, the entire plan was stopping him, and think we frustrate him a little bit.”

Parsons is an early frontrunner to win the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award, an honor he has not yet achieved.

“I’m sure the entire plan was stopping him again last week and he made a lot of plays,” added Rodgers. “He ran out, he made a fumble, fumble recovery. He’s a different type of player.”

Parsons was originally selected by the Cowboys with the 12th overall pick of the draft back in 2021. He proceeded to win Defensive Rookie of the Year in his first season, racking up 84 tackles, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles. He also earned a trip to the Pro Bowl and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The following year, Parsons registered 65 stops, 13.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries, making another Pro Bowl appearance and notching First-Team All-Pro honors yet again.

Dallas will look to improve to 3-0 when it takes on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
