Tennessee Titans star Derrick Henry is the only running back in football history to rush for over 2,000 yards in high school, college and the NFL.

Henry rushed for 2,027 yards in 2020 on 378 carries. He scored 17 touchdowns and helped the Titans win 11 games in the regular season. Unfortunately for Tennessee, the Baltimore Ravens won the Wild Card game by a final score of 20-13.

One of the top players in the NFL, Henry has rushed for 8,335 yards and 78 touchdowns in 102 career games. He’s also caught 127 passes for 1,244 yards and three touchdowns. The Alabama product has made three Pro Bowl teams and has been named an All-Pro once. Henry won the 2020 AP Offensive Player of the Year Award.

Last season for the Titans, Henry carried the ball 349 times for 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns in 16 games. Tennessee went only 7-10 and missed the playoffs. The franchise is under a lot of pressure this season to get back to the playoffs, especially after signing star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in free agency.

NFL NEWS & RUMORS: Derrick Henry & Tennessee Titans Updates

Henry will make $10.5 million this season. At the end of July, he made it clear that he wasn’t happy with the way his position is being treated. Henry’s comments followed the $10.1 million franchise tag that was placed on Saquon Barkley, Tony Pollard and Josh Jacobs, with none of the three running backs able to reach a long-term contract.

“It’s tough right now,” Henry said, via ESPN. “We’re just trying to show that we are as valuable as any other position. They use us in commercials and all over the place. We just want our share.”

Most NFL players who perform at a high level are rewarded with big contracts. Henry feels that is not the case when it comes to running backs: “We want the same thing,” Henry said. “It seems like even if we are productive, when it comes to negotiating, it’s kind of like used against us at that point.”
