Who will have the better 2020 season? The choice: Aaron Rodgers

This was a difficult question to answer for many reasons. All signs point to Tom Brady being the correct answer, but for the time being, it is Aaron Rodgers.

Many might say Brady because of his supporting cast. When he signed in Tampa Bay, Brady was prepared to throw the ball to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, O.J. Howard, and Cameron Brate. Soon after, the Buccaneers lured Rob Gronkowski out of retirement where he will reunite with his quarterback. On the other hand, Rodgers’ supporting cast is mediocre.

The Packers have an elite receiver in Davante Adams and not much after that. They added Devin Funchess on a one-year deal after he spent 2019 on injured reserve. After Funchess, the Packers have Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the depth chart. Jimmy Graham is now with the Chicago Bears where he signed on for two years. So how could Rodgers have a better season?

Rodgers will enter 2020 with a chip on his shoulder. He could not be happy with the team adding Love in the draft and he has a chance to show that he is not done yet, as if his play has not said that enough. Simply put, Rodgers does not turn the ball over. Rodgers has not thrown double-digit interceptions in a season since 2010.

Over the last two seasons, Rodgers has played in and started 32 games. He has thrown just six interceptions during that time. He is a quarterback that makes his team better and can do it in many ways. Rodgers still has mobility along with some of the best arm talent we have ever seen.

This could be viewed as a statistical question or combine it with team success. Either way, Rodgers holds an advantage. There are question marks in Tampa Bay. Brady has plenty left in the tank but we have never seen him play for another team under a different head coach.

The Bucs’ defense is poor which means the offense will have that much more pressure to put up a bundle of points. The Packers will enter the season as the more complete team and off an NFC Championship Game appearance. They will have a chance once against to win the NFC North and make a playoff run.

Whether it is individual statistics or team success, Rodgers will have the upper hand because of his ability to take care of the football. The Packers will have a better 2020 season than the Buccaneers overall and Aaron Rodgers will have a better campaign than Tom Brady.
