Notre Dame has set its sights on securing a top-tier cornerback class for the 2025 cycle, focusing on a select group of standout players at the position.

Among them is Trystan Haynes, a standout cornerback from Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert, who recently made his inaugural visit to South Bend on April 13th. Following a successful trip, Haynes has confirmed his plans for a return visit to campus.

Scheduled for the weekend of June 14-16, Haynes will embark on his official visit to Notre Dame, marking a significant development for the program. The Irish stand alongside formidable competition in Haynes’ final list of schools, which includes Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Miami, and Texas A&M.

With an impressive array of offers from some of college football’s most prestigious programs, Haynes has solidified his status as a highly sought-after prospect. Notable among his suitors are Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, LSU, Miami, and Texas A&M, among others.

Standing at 6-2 and weighing 160 pounds, Haynes is widely regarded as a consensus four-star recruit and a top 250 national prospect across major recruiting platforms.

247Sports ranks him particularly high, placing him at No. 119 overall and No. 12 among cornerbacks in the 2025 recruiting class. His standing is further underscored by a Top 100 grade on the Irish Breakdown board.

Hailing from Oklahoma, Haynes showcased his versatility as a junior for the Carl Albert Titans, excelling on both sides of the ball.

In addition to his defensive prowess, which saw him rack up 51 total tackles, three interceptions, and seven pass breakups in 14 games, Haynes emerged as a standout wide receiver. Leading the team with 1,009 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 45 receptions, he boasted an impressive average of 22.4 yards per catch while also contributing as a return specialist.

With one cornerback already committed in the 2025 class, Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep’s Cree Thomas, Notre Dame aims to bolster its defensive backfield further by adding at least two more cornerbacks to the roster. Haynes emerges as a key target in this pursuit, alongside elite prospect Dallas Golden and in-state standout Mark Zackery.
