Ohio State Buckeyes offensive lineman Enokk Vimahi has made the decision to conclude his collegiate career away from Columbus.

After contributing for five seasons with the Buckeyes, Vimahi disclosed his intention to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, as reported by Matt Zenith of 247Sports.

Hailing from Kahuku, Hawaii, Vimahi was highly regarded as a four-star prospect and held the impressive rankings of the No. 8 guard and No. 120 prospect for the 2019 cycle, according to On3 Industry Rankings.

Additionally, he was recognized as the second-best prospect from Hawaii.

During his time in Columbus, the sixth-year senior participated in 35 games, although he only made two starts, both of which were significant games. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 310 pounds, Vimahi notably started against Michigan in the 2022 matchup and against Missouri in the 2023 Cotton Bowl, despite the outcomes being losses.

In the previous season, Vimahi saw action in 100 snaps on the offensive line and 10 on special teams, including a notable 57 snaps in the Cotton Bowl loss. Projections did not foresee Vimahi making a significant impact on the starting lineup for the Buckeyes in the upcoming 2024 season.

Ohio State has witnessed several players entering the transfer portal in April, including running back Dallan Hayden and safeties Cedrick Hawkins and Ja’Had Carter.

Hayden opted to commit to Colorado, while Hawkins has chosen to attend UCF for the upcoming season.

In terms of the impact on the Buckeyes’ depth chart, it is anticipated to have minimal effect. Vimahi was slated as the second-string behind Josh Fryar, meaning that Toby Wilson, the third-stringer, will likely have the opportunity to vie for the second spot during fall camp.

Additionally, Austin Siereveld, the left guard, may be positioned as the backup in this scenario.
