Packers: 3 worst-case scenarios in 2020 for Green Bay

1. Christian Kirksey Is Either Injured Or A Weakness

Finally, let’s talk about the defensive side of the football. There was one major position of need defensively entering this offseason and that position was at inside linebacker. Green Bay allowed Blake Martinez to walk in free agency and replaced him with free agent linebacker Christian Kirksey.

A horrible worst-case scenario for the Packers in 2020 is that Kirksey either suffers with injuries again or is simply a weakness.

Green Bay was torn up on the ground by the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. Not having an athletic inside linebacker who could play side to side was a big part of their struggles. Kirksey was brought in to replace that.

If Kirksey can make a big impact, the Packers’ defense should take another step forward. On the other hand, if he can’t, it will be more of the same in Green Bay.
