Packers Make Blockbuster Aaron Rodgers Trade In New Mock Draft

Aaron Rodgers, Packers

As the Green Bay Packers enter the 2023 NFL offseason, there are a ton of questions surrounding the future of the franchise. First and foremost, the future of Aaron Rodgers with the franchise is the hottest story in the league right now. Will the Packers keep him for one more run or trade him and move forward with Jordan Love under center?

If what the media believes will happen actually ends up being the case, Rodgers will get traded. Most reporters and fans have already made that conclusion with a decision actually being made by either Rodgers or the Packers.

Well, in a new mock draft for the 2023 NFL Draft by The 33rd Team, Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets in a blockbuster trade.

The Jets and Packers will have to work out some contract details, but the Jets give up at least this year’s first-round NFL Draft pick for Aaron Rodgers. This gives the Jets a chance to make a run at a Super Bowl with their talented roster. Green Bay uses the pick to inject more youth into the offensive line and protect Jordan Love’s blind side.

With the No. 13 pick that the Packers acquired in the trade, the mock draft has them selecting Ohio State offensive tackle Dawand Jones. That pick would be a necessary one to help protect Love, as previously mentioned by the article.

Following that pick from the Rodgers trade, the Packers were predicted to draft Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer with the No. 15 pick in this mock draft.

Granted, this is all speculation. However, the rumors connecting the Jets with the Packers in a trade for Rodgers have been running rampant. It seems that New York is currently the front-runner to acquire Rodgers if Green Bay does actually trade him.

Rodgers still has plenty of gas left in the tank. Even with a broken thumb and a completely new wide receiver corps, Rodgers completed 64.6 percent of his pass attempts for 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. The numbers aren’t up to par for Rodgers, but the reasonings behind the down season make up for the lack of numbers.

Expect to continue hearing a ton of rumors surrounding Aaron Rodgers as the offseason gets underway. The Packers have some big decisions to make, and it will be interesting to see if trading Rodgers is one of those decisions.
