2. Create a Dynamic Duo
To recap, Aaron Jones will be a free agent following the 2020 season. The Packers added A.J. Dillon in the raft and their backfield is not close to being set for the 2021 season. If Alvin Kamara is added, Green Bay could create something that Kamara was apart of in New Orleans. Only this time, he will be on the other side of the duo.
Kamara and Mark Ingram paired up in the backfield for two years with the Saints. In 2017, Ingram rushed for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns. Kamara added 728 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie. In 2018, Kamara took over as the No. 1 back. He carried the ball 194 times for 883 yards and 14 touchdowns. Ingram added 645 yards and six touchdowns. Ingram is now in Baltimore and the duo was no more.
Could they create another one in Green Bay? In New Orleans, Kamara was the dynamic rookie that was paired with a smart, veteran player in Ingram. This could work the other way where Kamara has the experience and molds Dillon during his early years. This would work well in the Packers’ favor.
