The Green Bay Packers are undergoing a major change heading into the 2023 season. Jordan Love will be taking over as the starting quarterback, replacing Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers contemplated retirement this offseason but ultimately decided to keep playing and was traded to the New York Jets.

Rodgers had been the starting quarterback in Green Bay since 2008 when he took over for Brett Favre, who was also traded to the Jets. He has accomplished a lot since then, as Love will have a huge void to fill in the lineup.

Taking over for a future Hall of Famer is never an easy task and there will be some differences in how things are done. But, some players within the locker room aren’t too concerned about what is on the horizon.

One of those players is wide receiver Romeo Doubs. He made some interesting comments recently to Spectrum News 1 Wisconsin about the changes that will be occurring. In his opinion, there won’t be much of a difference.

“I think Jordan can do it. I think Jordan is a really good quarterback,” Doubs told Spectrum News 1 Wisconsin. “When you go from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan, Aaron was a really great quarterback, but I believe Jordan can do the same exact thing.

“So I don’t really see what’s the big difference. I see a progression. I see it going up. I don’t see the Packers going down. I only focus on our room and our team in this organization. This organization is historic, and it’s only winning. That’s all. When you hear Green Bay, it’s no losing, it’s only winning.” (H/T Mirror.co.uk)

Those are certainly some bold comments from Doubs, who is heading into Year 2 of his career with the Packers. He will be counted on to step up with this season, along with fellow second-year wide receiver Christian Watson, to help make the transition for Love as easy as possible.

While Doubs was likely speaking with some hyperbole, it is nice to see that he has Love’s back. He is saying all of the right things, expressing confidence in his new starting quarterback. That is a similar feeling that everyone around the organization seems to have as everyone in the building feels Love is ready to be a starter.
