Rumors have been swirling this week about teams in the NFC South showing a keen interest in New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Recently, Julian Edelman chimed in on this topic, offering his insights.

Colin Cowherd questioned Edelman about the possibility of Belichick taking the helm of the Carolina Panthers. Edelman’s response was clear and unequivocal, as he stated, “No way.”

Edelman went on to suggest the Dallas Cowboys as a potential destination for his former coach. He expressed his thoughts:

“What about Dallas? What if Mike McCarthy gets an early exit from the playoffs? Having Bill Belichick there, alongside that Top 10 offensive line and talented roster, would provide a strong foundation. McCarthy has faced criticism for penalties and clock management issues, such as during the game against the Lions, where the pressure seemed overwhelming.”

Despite Edelman’s musings, it appears that the Cowboys are not currently seeking a new head coach. Conversely, the Carolina Panthers seem determined to make a significant splash in their coaching search this offseason.

At present, it seems that Panthers owner David Tepper may need to scratch Bill Belichick off his list of potential candidates. Thankfully, there are plenty of other quality candidates that Carolina could consider pursuing instead.

Expect to hear more news and details about Bill Belichick’s future with the Patriots shortly after the end of the regular season on Sunday. The Cowboys would make a ton of sense.
