The New England Patriots wrapped up a week of competition against the Green Bay Packers for their second week of the preseason. The teams held joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday before facing off in a preseason game on Saturday night. New England won the game 21-17 as it was stopped early in the fourth quarter after a scary injury suffered by the Patriots’ rookie Isaiah Bolden, who had to be stretchered off the field.

The Patriots were the second team to see new Packers’ starting quarterback Jordan Love in action. He had some highlights on Wednesday in the first practice and played well in the game on Saturday. Sandwiched between that was a practice where the Patriots got the best of the young signal caller.

Overall, there were a few players on the Patriots who came away impressed with how Love looked. One of those players was veteran pass rusher, Matt Judon. He believes that the Packers have a keeper in the Utah State product.

“He’s a good kid, very calm, composed,” Judon said, per Ryan Wood of PackersNews.com. “I think he’s going to be a great leader for this organization, a good player. We all can see the arm talent. He’s got some nice arm talent.”

New England knows exactly how Green Bay feels having to move on from a legendary player. They have spent the last three seasons trying to figure out how to replace Tom Brady, while the Packers are replacing Aaron Rodgers this season.

For a player of Judon’s caliber to have such praise for Love after facing off in practice means a lot. He has played against and alongside some excellent signal callers and he sees something in Love that should help the Packers remain successful in their post-Rodgers era.

Just as there has been for the Patriots with Jones, the Packers will have some bumps in the road with Love. But, there are certainly some positives to work with as Judon came away impressed from playing against Love last week.
