Eagles’ AJ Brown Suggests Massive Change To NFL Schedule

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is proposing a massive change to the NFL schedule that would surely upset a whole lot of people: he wants to get rid of Monday Night Football.

“Right after the game, you only have a certain amount of time for your body to recover,” Brown said, via Eagles Nation. “I think they should take Monday Night Football out. I know it’s cool, but to turn around after is very difficult. Especially when banged up.”

While NFL fans love Monday Night Football because it’s just an extra day of football to watch, you have to assume that most players would probably agree with Brown.

The short turnaround is surely not forgiving to their bodies. Heck, one week as a whole is probably not a whole lot for most players; let alone six days.

It also makes you wonder how much Brown hates Thursday Night Football, then, considering the turnaround between Sunday and Thursday is far less than the turnaround between Monday and Sunday.

I guess the counterargument is that whoever plays on Thursday will then get an extra long break before their next game, but still, having to play another contest after just three full days of rest has to be brutal.

Regardless, Brown’s suggestion will almost certainly go by the wayside. It’s hard to envision the NFL actually scrapping Monday Night Football given how profitable it is and how much fans love it.

Through 14 games this season, Brown has hauled in 95 receptions for 1,314 yards and seven touchdowns.

Brown, who played his collegiate football at the University of Mississippi, was originally selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

He spent the first three years of his career with the Titans before being traded to the Eagles in April 2022. The 26-year-old caught 88 passes for 1,496 yards and 11 scores in his debut season with the club.

A.J. Brown and the Eagles are 10-4 and the year and will look to snap a three-game losing streak when they take on the New York Giants on Christmas Day, which is on Monday.
