The Philadelphia Eagles are obviously focused on the present. They are 6-1 and are aiming to win their second straight NFC East title as well as make it back to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year.
Still, that won’t stop people from speculating on what direction the Eagles may take in the offseason.
While Philadelphia is undefeated, there is still no question that the club has some places of need on its roster, and one of those areas is at linebacker.
Bleacher Report’s NFL staff feels that the Eagles may wait until the offseason to really tackle that issue head on, and it mentions Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner as a potential solution.
Wagner is in the final year of his deal with the Seahawks and will certainly be a hot commodity once he hits the open market in the spring.
The 33-year-old has been one of the best linebackers in the league for the last decade, making eight trips to the Pro Bowl and earning six First-Team All-Pro selections along the way.
Given his age, the Seahawks may be unwilling to provide him with a costly long-term deal, meaning he could be up for grabs in free agency.
Through his first six games this season, Wagner has logged 63 tackles and a couple of sacks in what is actually his second go-around in Seattle.
The Utah State product spent his first 10 seasons in the Pacific Northwest before being released by the Seahawks in March 2022. He then went on to sign with the Los Angeles Rams, where he spent one year before being cut. Bobby Wagner then re-joined Seattle this past offseason.
Wagner has led the NFL in tackles twice in his career, most recently doing so in 2019 when he racked up 159 stops. He set a career high with 167 tackles back in 2016.
