Eagles Named Top Potential Destination For Intriguing RB

J.K. Dobbins

The Philadelphia Eagles find themselves in need of a running back heading into the offseason, and Brad Spielberger of Pro Football Focus sees a perfect option for the team in free agency.

Baltimore Ravens halfback J.K. Dobbins.

Dobbins could represent a great cost-effective option for an Eagles squad that has only modest cap room entering the offseason, as he played in just one game in 2023 before tearing his Achilles.

As a matter of fact, injuries have limited Dobbins to just nine games the last three seasons, so as talented as he is, teams will surely be wary of giving him a lucrative multi-year deal.

Dobbins, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was selected by the Ravens in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He played in 15 games during his rookie campaign, registering 805 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging a robust six yards per carry.

Dobbins then tore his ACL going into 2021, knocking him out for the entire year. He returned in 2022 and played eight games before suffering another knee injury. During his time on the field that season, he recorded 520 yards and a couple of scores while logging 5.7 yards per attempt.

There is no doubt that Dobbins is effective when he is healthy, as evidenced by his remarkable efficiency. However, durability is obviously the big question with Dobbins.

Spielberger notes that the Eagles have a strong offensive line, so they can plug in most running backs and generate solid production out of them.

Of course, Dobbins has to actually stay on the field to achieve that.

We’ll see if Philadelphia does in fact try to land Dobbins on a low-risk, high-reward deal that could potentially pay dividends for the club in 2024.
