What To Expect From Tom Brady In 2020
Despite the fact that Brady is currently 42 years old, he is still one of the most feared players in the NFL. No one wants to face him and he is still the kind of player that could come in and power the Buccaneers to contention.
Brady will also be entering the 2020 season looking to prove a point. Leaving the Patriots will give him a chance to prove that he is much more than the system quarterback that critics always say he is. He can play up to the Tom Brady level without Bill Belichick leading the way.
Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich are two great offensive minds that will tailor their system around Brady. He doesn’t have the strongest arm anymore and he isn’t a mobile quarterback, but he has elite weapons to work with.
Obviously, the Buccaneers offer Brady a massive upgrade at the wide receiver position. Mike Evans is one of the top wideouts in the league and Chris Godwin is an emerging star as well. Rob Gronkowski also joined Brady with the Buccaneers.
The only obvious weakness offensively for the Buccaneers comes at running back. Ronald Jones has great potential, but he has not been consistent at all thus far in his career. Perhaps 2020 will be the season that he proves he is a starting caliber back.
With all of that being said, what should the Buccaneers be expecting from Brady in 2020?
Quite simply, Brady is going to put on a show with the weapons he has at his disposal. He will end up throwing for 4,500 yards, 35 touchdowns, and under 10 interceptions. Those numbers will power the Buccaneers to the playoffs.
It will be interesting to see how deep of a playoff run the Buccaneers end up making. Brady is targeting nothing less than a Super Bowl win and doing so would cement his legacy as the best quarterback of all-time.
