1. San Francisco 49ers

An easy enough pick. The 49ers won the NFC West last season, along with the NFC conference, and they should be the favorites to win it once again.

Losing Deforest Buckner is a hit, even with finding his replacement in Javon Kinlaw with their first-round pick, but the defense still has elite talent all over the place– especially along the defensive line. From Nick Bosa to Dee Ford to Arik Armstead and back to Kinlaw, San Francisco is stacked along the defensive line.

But it’s not just the D-Line that’s impressive about the 49ers’. Just about every position group on the roster, be it offense or defense, is filled by a more than capable player– and lead by a more than capable coach in Kyle Shanahan.

They might not have the wide receiver talent of the Cardinals or the quarterback talent of the Seahawks or even a cornerback on the level of Jalen Ramsey like the Rams, but the 49ers’ have a complete roster in a way that no other team in the NFC West comes close to. That, along with Shanahan, makes them frontrunners for the division, and contenders for another Super Bowl.
