Raiders’ Final Stance On Trading Davante Adams, Revealed

Davante Adams, Raiders

A week after losing to Tyson Bagnet and the Chicago Bears in his first career NFL start as an undrafted rookie out of Division II Shepard University, the Las Vegas Raiders suffered another embarrassing loss. This time it was against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football to finish up Week 8.

After getting back to the .500 mark with a two-game winning streak, the Raiders find themselves at 3-5 heading into the NFL Trade Deadline. They are now tied for last in the AFC West with the Denver Broncos, as only the New England Patriots have a worse record in the entire conference.

Given their current standing, it would make sense if the Raiders were sellers ahead of the deadline. But, that doesn’t sound like the route that the franchise will be taking with just a few hours until the deadline.

According to Adam Schefter, the Raiders aren’t going to be trading star wide receiver Davante Adams. His source said, “Not a chance in hell,” in regards to the odds Las Vegas moved their All-Pro playmaker.

The relationship between Adams and the Raiders has been a tenuous one, to say the least. He was not thrilled with some of the offseason moves made, namely moving on from Derek Carr and signing Jimmy Garoppolo to take his place as the starter.

Adams has been vocal about his displeasure on how the offense has been run and the losses piling up. After seeing some of the passes Garoppolo targeted him with on Monday night, you have to give Adams credit for not throwing him under the bus and being as professional as possible in his post-game press conferences.

With a trade not happening ahead of the deadline, you can expect Adams trade rumors to heat up once again in the offseason. The Raiders aren’t close to contention and the All-Pro wide receiver doesn’t want to waste his final prime years playing for a losing franchise.
