Former NFL cornerback and current analyst Richard Sherman thinks that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill should be garnering serious consideration for the MVP award this season.

Speaking on FS1’s Undisputed this week, Sherman said that while he understands why San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott are currently the odds-on favorites to take home MVP honors, he thinks what Hill is doing is special.

Sherman goes as far to say that he thinks if the Dolphins end up getting the No. 1 seed in the AFC, that Hill will actually end up winning MVP because he is clearly the best player on his team.

Of course, a wide receiver has never won the award, so if Hill does ultimately win it, it would mark a historic moment in the history of the NFL.

Hill currently leads the league with 1,481 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns to go along with a hefty 93 receptions. Most recently, he logged five catches for 157 yards and a couple of scores in a Week 13 win over the Washington Commanders.

The 29-year-old has posted three straight 100-yard performances and has registered at least 100 yards receiving in eight of his 12 games.

Hill, who played his collegiate football at West Alabama, was originally selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He spent his first six seasons with the Chiefs, making the Pro Bowl every year and helping Kansas City win a Super Bowl during the 2019-20 campaign.

Tyreek Hill was then traded to the Dolphins in March 2022. He caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven scores during his debut season with the club.

The Douglas, Ga. native has never failed to make the Pro Bowl and has also earned four First-Team All-Pro selections.

Miami is 9-3 and will host the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. It currently owns the AFC’s top seed.
