Rob Gronkowski Blasts Patriots For Handling Of Upset Win

The New England Patriots stunned the Buffalo Bills with a 29-25 upset win last Sunday, and afterward, the Patriots players seemed very happy with the victory. A little too happy for former New England tight end Rob Gronkowski.

During an appearance on the Up & Adams Show this week, Gronkowski ripped the Pats for what he thought was excessive celebrating following their Week 7 triumph.

“If you asked me that celebration was pretty ridiculous, whenever we celebrated just a little bit we would get hounded,” Gronkowski told former Patriots safety Patrick Chung. “They’ve just won one game and they celebrated more than we would when we won a Super Bowl. That was like one of the most absurd celebrations, I’m like wow they won a game and they went that crazy like they acting like they have never been there before.”

Gronkowski certainly knows a thing or two about winning big games, as he collected four Super Bowl rings throughout his NFL career (although he did not play in one of those Super Bowls due to injury). Three of those titles came with the Patriots.

For that reason, you can imagine why Gronkowski was a little taken back by watching a team celebrate just because they won a regular-season game in October.

But to be fair, the 2023 Patriots are not at all like any of the New England clubs that Rob Gronkowski had the pleasure of playing for.

For this iteration of the Pats, it was only their second win of the season, and they were coming off of three straight dreadful losses going into the Bills game.

The Patriots will look to continue their winning ways when they aim to avoid the season sweep against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday.
