Super Bowl 58 concluded less than 24 hours ago with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime. It was the second consecutive title for Kansas City and the third in the last five years.
The first of those Super Bowls also came against the 49ers, who lost 31-20 in 2020. San Francisco continues to get close to taking home the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since the 1994 season, but they keep falling short.
Will their luck change in the 2024 season for Super Bowl 59? Oddsmakers certainly believe so as the 49ers have been installed as the early favorites to win the title next season. Despite finishing as the runner-up this season, San Francisco is the favorite at +500 for next season’s title.
The Chiefs are right behind them with odds of +700 to repeat and become the first franchise to ever win three Super Bowls in a row. Rounding out the top five are the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. They have odds of +850 and +1200, respectively.

It should come as little surprise that those teams are in the top five according to oddsmakers to win next season. Four of those teams took part in Championship Weekend and the fifth, the Bills, finished the season on a tear before falling just short against the Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
The 49ers and Lions could have a budding rivalry as both teams are in a position to have sustained success. They are the cream of the crop in the NFC, showing this season there is a gap between them and the rest of their peers.
Based on the odds that have been made, the 49ers may not face much resistance in their race for the NFC West divisional title either. The Los Angeles Rams, with odds of +3000, are the second team from the division to appear on the list and they are in 14th. The Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks are both listed at +8000 odds.
Bringing up the rear are the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants. Out of that group, only the Giants aren’t working with a new head coach in 2024, which speaks volumes to how bad of a spot they are in heading into the offseason.
