San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is off to a red-hot start this season and is one of the primary reasons why the 49ers are 4-0.

Just how phenomenal has McCaffrey been? Take a look at this.

McCaffrey is currently leading the NFL with 459 rushing yards as well as six rushing touchdowns through the first four weeks of the year. He is averaging a robust 5.7 yards per carry and has also logged 18 catches for 141 yards and a score.

The 27-year-old is now in his first full season in San Francisco after coming over in a midseason trade with the Carolina Panthers last year.

Across 17 games between both the Panthers and the 49ers in 2022, McCaffrey amassed 1,139 yards and eight touchdowns while registering 4.7 yards per attempt. In addition, he hauled in 85 receptions for 741 yards and five scores.

McCaffrey, who played his collegiate football at Stanford, was originally selected by Carolina with the eighth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

After a relatively quiet rookie campaign, McCaffrey broke out in 2018, finishing with 1,098 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground while catching 107 passes for 867 yards and six scores.

The following year, Christian McCaffrey made the Pro Bowl and earned a First-Team All-Pro selection after racking up 1,387 yards while punching in 15 touchdowns as a rusher. He also snared 116 balls for 1,005 yards while reaching the end zone four time as a receive.

Injuries then sapped McCaffrey in both 2020 and 2021, but he got back on track last season and made his second trip to the Pro Bowl. He seems well on his way to another Pro Bowl appearance this year.

The Niners will look to stay undefeated when they host the Dallas Cowboys in a potential playoff preview next Sunday.
