In a recent article from Bleacher Report, they explored the possibility of the Chicago Bears landing a big name in Washington Commanders’ pass-rusher Chase Young.

With NFL training camp underway across the league, teams are evaluating their squads for the upcoming season. One of the teams that is hoping to improve this season is the Bears.

Last season, the Bears showed some glimpses of the future with their hopeful star quarterback, Justin Fields. However, they know there is still a lot of work to be done to get back into the playoffs.

On the offensive side of the ball, we saw a little bit of what Fields can do, and the hope is that with some new weapons around him, he will elevate in year two. However, while the offense is hoping to improve, the defense must also.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report, they spoke about a big name who could potentially help the Bears on the defensive side of the ball. That player is Chase Young.

With the hypothetical proposed deal, the Commanders would send Young to the Bears in exchange for Trevis Gipson, Velus Jones Jr., and a 2024 third-round pick.

Coming into the league, Young was the second overall pick out of Ohio State. In his first season with Washington, he lived up to the hype as a great pass rusher, as he won the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.

However, things have been tough for Young since. Due to injuries, Young played in just 9 games in 2021, and three games in 2022. For a team lacking direction, the Commanders might end up looking to move Young before they would have to pay him. While there is certainly a lot of upside for Young still, there is still a lot of unknown.

For the Bears, the acquisition of Young would give them a potential star on the defensive side of the ball if he can stay healthy. However, that is a big question mark.
