In a recent article by Bleacher Report, they predicted an interesting trade with the New England Patriots to help bolster the defense of the Green Bay Packers.
With training camp well underway for the Packers and the start of the preseason getting close, all eyes will be on Jordan Love. Due to a rocky offseason, this season is one of the most uncertain for Green Bay in recent memory.
The end of the Aaron Rodgers era finally occurred as he was traded to the New York Jets this offseason. With that comes the beginning of the Love era in Green Bay. For the franchise and the fanbase, they will be hoping to have a smooth transition like they did when Rodgers took over for Brett Favre.
While seeing what Love and the offense can do is important, the Packers also have to worry about the other side of the football. In a recent article from Bleacher Report, they named a player that the Packers could go after before the start of the season. That player is Jalen Mills of the Patriots. In the hypothetical deal, the Packers would just be sending just a fifth-round pick.
This would certainly be an interesting addition for the Packers. Going into the season, the Packers’ secondary figures are one of their strengths. However, their depth could be an issue if one of their stars missed time.
Even though Rodgers is no longer with the Packers, the NFC North is still a winnable division. For the Packers, their mindset must change from being a great passing attack with Rodgers to becoming a strong defensive-minded team with a good running game.
Adding Mills would be an addition to the strength of the team, and not at a costly price. For the Packers, keeping draft capital will be important depending on how Love’s development goes, as they may need to think about quarterback again if he doesn’t pan out.
