The Tennessee Titans are becoming a team that many people are keeping an eye on with the 2023 NFL Draft quickly approaching. With numerous veterans already released this offseason, rumors are swirling that the Titans could be entering a rebuild.
Some big moves could be on the horizon in Tennessee. Derrick Henry has been involved in trade rumors and the team could move on from Ryan Tannehill as their starting quarterback. The Titans have reportedly been digging deeper into this year’s quarterback class and a recent piece of news confirms that they are doing their homework when it comes to potentially finding a new franchise quarterback.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Titans are set to meet with Kentucky quarterback Will Levis on Tuesday. It is certainly a meeting that will draw a lot of attention because of a few factors.
For starters, Tennessee is set to pick at No. 11. Based on many of the mock drafts that have been done, they are outside of range for the top signal callers in this year’s draft, which Levis is considered one of. There is a chance that quarterbacks are selected in the first four picks for the first time in NFL history.
If that is going to occur, the Titans will have to swing a trade, likely with the Arizona Cardinals at No. 3, to get into position to select one of the quarterbacks. But, there is also a chance that one of the players slides down the board.
We have seen that occur in recent years as well with Justin Fields in 2021 being a recent example. Fields slid out of the top 10 and was selected by the Chicago Bears at No. 11 after they made a trade with the New York Giants to move up.
If that was going to occur to any of the prospects in this year’s draft class, it would likely be Levis. There have been reports that he is doing poorly in interviews, which has caused his stock to plummet. If that is true, the Kentucky product could fall right into the Titans’ laps at No. 11.
