3. The Backup Quarterback Battle

Granted, this battle isn’t something that will come up in an ideal world. If it were an ideal world, Kirk Cousins would stay perfectly healthy and the Vikings wouldn’t need a backup. However, injuries happen and if Cousins does go down, another quarterback will need to step up.

At this point in time, the Vikings have three guys battling for backup duty. Those three players are Sean Mannion, Jake Browning, and Nate Stanley.

On the outside looking in, Mannion appears to be a good bet to win the job. He has experience and has the ability to step in if needed. Unfortunately, if Cousins were to go down, it would be very difficult for the Vikings to compete.
