2. The Battle At Cornerback
The Vikings have a completely new-look secondary. Gone are the days of Xavier Rhodes being an elite cornerback in Minnesota. In fact, he is no longer on the roster after being released as a cap casualty and ending up with the Indianapolis Colts.
Both Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander both left the team in free agency as well. That leaves the Vikings with Mike Hughes, Jeff Gladney, and Cameron Dantzler as the top three names at cornerback.
Minnesota also has some talent behind those three guys in Harrison Hand and Holton Hill. Neither of those guys is expected to earn a starting job, but stranger things have happened.
If the Vikings want to win the NFC North, they are going to need big seasons from Hughes and Gladney. Dantzler will also be asked to handle a large role as a rookie. This is something to keep a close eye on.
