Pittman Jr. is Positioned for Success
It can be problematic for prospects entering the NFL to face too high of expectations at the start of their career. Sometimes, the situation they enter makes it difficult to succeed early on, resulting in questions to be raised about their long-term potential.
The Colts have a favorable situation where Michael Pittman Jr. is set up to succeed. The foundation of a passing game begins with the offensive line providing the quarterback with time to throw the football. That won’t be an issue for Indianapolis considering they have a top-three unit in the NFL.
Next up, having a respectable running to entice the defense into having to account for this element of offense is critical. The Colts already succeeded in this area with Marlon Mack and with Jonathan Taylor entering the backfield rotation, the play-action should be set up nicely.
The quarterback throwing the passes obviously needs to be talented and willing to take risks and the supporting group of receivers need to be respectable. With Philip Rivers throwing the football and T.Y. Hilton in the No. 1 role, the pieces are in place for Pittman Jr. to succeed.
