Christian Kirksey entered this offseason looking for a fresh start after back-to-back disappointing seasons with the Cleveland Browns that ended way prematurely due to injury. He met with a few teams, but ended up signing with the Green Bay Packers for a chance to compete for a Super Bowl.

While the Packers have been viewed as having a bad offseason, they feel differently. They feel that the additions of Kirksey, Devin Funchess, and Rick Wagner will end up paying off and will help them improve.

Over the last two years with the Browns, Kirksey only ended up playing in nine total games. Back in 2017, however, he racked up 138 total tackles to go along with 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and five defended passes.

At 27 years old, Kirksey is still in the prime of his physical career. If he can stay healthy, he is capable of being a star. Kirksey brings the exact skill-set that the Packers need.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at why the Packers should be excited about Christian Kirksey in his first season with the franchise.
