When the Minnesota Vikings decided to take Justin Jefferson with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, they immediately got a playmaker who will fit perfectly alongside of Adam Thielen.
Following the trade of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills, it was clear that the Vikings needed some help. Thielen is a star, but the Vikings have thrived on having two capable big-play wideouts. Jefferson may be a rookie, but he brings playmaking to the field immediately.
Last season with the LSU Tigers alongside of Joe Burrow, Jefferson racked up huge numbers. He caught 111 passes for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns. Those numbers show his ability to be a huge playmaker, as well as a top-notch possession wideout.
Standing in at 6-foot-1 and just over 200 pounds, Jefferson is a great route runner and has the physical ability to make big plays. The Vikings are going to rely heavily on him this season.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at a few reasons for Vikings fans to be excited about Justin Jefferson this season.
