2 players the Seattle Seahawks should try to trade for this offseason

Since the “Legion of Boom” was broken up, the Seahawks have been longing to construct a secondary that intimidates opposing offenses. However, they’ve been unsuccessful in their efforts.

As a matter of fact, the Seahawks boasted the 27th ranked pass defense in 2019 — their lowest mark since 2010. Given the current state of Seattle’s secondary, they could benefit from acquiring a proven veteran.

With a month until free agency kicks off, the Detroit Lions have been reportedly shopping Darius Slay to other teams. The Seahawks are a team that should absolutely make an offer for the All-Pro corner.

Along with surrendering some draft capital, whatever team lands Slay is going to need to give him a lucrative extension. Fortunately for the Seahawks, they will possess nearly $60 million in cap space, according to Spotrac.

Additionally, Slay would be able to reunite with Quandre Diggs in Seattle. Slay was upset with the Lions after they traded Diggs to the Seahawks in 2019.
