Could the Buffalo Bills potentially move Stefon Diggs?

Right now, it seems like an unimaginable proposition. The Bills are trying to win a Super Bowl, so trading their best wide receiver would obviously be a rather strange thing to do.

However, Diggs expressed unhappiness with his role late last season, and during the offseason, rumors swirled that the three-time Pro Bowler may have wanted out of Buffalo.

Diggs assured everyone that he had no intention of asking for a trade and added that he wanted to stay with the Bills for the rest of his career, but if Buffalo labors at any point between now and the Oct. 31 trade deadline, you have to wonder if things will change.

Should the Bills place Diggs on the trade block, you can be that the Dallas Cowboys will be front and center waiting to snare him.

There are a couple of trades the Cowboys can offer Buffalo.

One thing they can do is offer the Bills a 2024 first-round draft pick and a third-rounder. That is some heavy draft capital, and if Buffalo does ultimately look to move Diggs over the next month or so, that could represent one of the best offers the club would get.

Another package the Cowboys can put together for the Bills consists of fellow wide out Michael Gallup and a 2024 second-round pick.

There was a time when it looked like Gallup was about to stamp his name among the best No. 2 receivers in the league, but injuries stalled his progress. Gallup hasn’t truly been effective since 2020, and in two games this season, he has logged just two catches for 13 yards.

Still, Gallup is only 27 years old, so he has a long road ahead of him if he can just stay healthy. He also clearly has talent, as evidenced by the fact that he hauled in 66 receptions for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns back in 2019.

Would either of those two offers be enough to pry Diggs away from Buffalo? It remains to be seen. While the former package seems to be the stronger of the two on the surface, the Bills might be more amenable to Gallup and a second-rounder because they would at least be replacing Diggs with another receiver rather than just adding two draft picks.

Either way, the chances of Buffalo actually sending Diggs packing are very slim. Unless Diggs does, in fact, demand a trade, the Bills probably aren’t moving him, but if Diggs becomes disgruntled again, Buffalo may very well have to take action.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys would love to bring in Stefon Diggs to solidify their Super Bowl potential.
