Buffalo Bills Get Huge News On Potential Free Agency Move

The Buffalo Bills entered the offseason with severe financial restrictions, which was why they cut six players before the start of the new league year and have let numerous other key players walk via free agency.

However, one former Bills player is still out there on the open market.

Long-time safety Micah Hyde.

Buffalo made it pretty clear after the season that it did not intend on re-signing Hyde, who has even considered retirement.

However, with Hyde still remaining unsigned, the Bills may be in play again, and Hyde certainly seems to favor a return to Buffalo.

Bills reporter Maddy Glab recently took to social media to provide an update on Hyde, posting that he is unsure about his plans for 2024 and that if he does play again, he can’t imagine it being for anyone other than Buffalo.

Hyde is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he played 14 games and registered 54 tackles, a couple of interceptions and seven passes defended.

The 33-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Iowa, was originally selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He spent the first four years of his career with the Packers and played some solid football, but he didn’t really break out until he joined the Bills in 2017.

That season, Hyde racked up 82 tackles, five picks and 13 passes defended en route to his only Pro Bowl appearance. He also earned a Second-Team All-Pro selection.

Hyde went on to spend seven years in Buffalo, notching another Second-Team All-Pro nod in 2021.

He may not be the same player he once was, but perhaps there is still room for Hyde in the Bills’ secondary.
