The Atlanta Falcons made a massive move early on Friday morning by signing superstar running back Todd Gurley. Following his release from the Los Angeles Rams, Gurley wasted no time returning to the state where he played his college football. It was a quick decision, but one that showed both sides had major mutual interest in each other.
Gurley signed a one-year deal to join the Falcons. It is a prove-it kind of deal for the star running back, who saw his numbers drop off quite a bit in 2019.
Los Angeles did not give Gurley a consistent role last season as they tried to keep him fresh and healthy. His knee injury is a major concern, but obviously the Falcons are not going to allow the concerns to make them pass up on the opportunity to bring in a player of his caliber.
During the 2019 season with the Rams, Gurley ended up carrying the football 223 times for 857 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 31 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers show that Gurley still has some elite football left in his legs.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at three way-too-early bold predictions for Gurley with the Falcons in 2020.
