Will Lead the NFL in Rushing TDs Per Game
Perhaps the most important rushing stat of all pertains to the ability to get the ball across the goal-line. That’s an area where Derrick Henry thrived and mightily helped the Titans’ offense as he accounted for 76.1% of the team’s rushing touchdowns last season.
The honor of leading the NFL in total rushing touchdowns was shared between Henry and Aaron Jones with Christian McCaffrey trailing by just one. It’s worth noting, Henry had a slighter higher average for rushing touchdowns per game.
The Titans trailed only the San Francisco 49ers (23) in rushing touchdowns when compared to the rest of the league. They managed to even tie the total the prolific rushing attack of the Baltimore Ravens led by league MVP Lamar Jackson.
During the 2020 season, Henry will continue to be the highest volume scorer in the rushing department at least from the standpoint of an average. This is another category that will be dependant on not missing games as its paramount to outproduce the league’s other elite backs.
