700 rushing yards
Prior to his impressive junior season at LSU in 2019, Edwards-Helaire was coming off of a season where he rushed for 658 yards on 146 attempts. Then, upon getting the chance to be LSU’s workhorse running back, Edwards-Helaire more than doubled his production this past season.
Amid LSU’s National Championship run, Edwards-Helaire scampered for 1,414 yards on 215 carries. While it’s unlikely he comes close to that sort of production with the Chiefs next season, he should be able to have a decent output in terms of rushing yards.
Despite being taken in the first round, there’s a good chance that Edwards-Helaire splits touches with Damien Williams — who came close to winning the Super Bowl MVP award after a stellar performance in the Super Bowl. Even though he’ll share touches with Williams, Edwards-Helaire should have an opportunity to rush for 700 yards in 2020. Seeing that Williams led the team with only 498 yards in 2019, a 700-yard rusher would be a major upgrade from a season ago.
