The Offense Has To Get Going Earlier
While the Vikings put up 34 points, that is very deceiving. Most of these points were in garbage time. The Packers had a very solid lead going into the forth quarter. Minnesota’s last touchdown was only with a minute and a half left. Don’t be fouled by the final score, the Packers completely dominated this game.
The first half for Minnesota was awful. Besides a first-quarter touchdown by Dalvin Cook and a solid couple plays before the half, Minnesota’s offense was unable to get anything going. The Vikings offensive line had issues protecting Kirk Cousins.
Cousins made some awful decisions. One player who was really causing the Vikings beaches was Packers corner Jaire Alexander. Alexander intercepted Cousins and recorded a safety in the second quarter.
While the Vikings’ offense has a lot of very good players, they couldn’t get anything going early. Green Bay’s defense controlled the line of scrimmage. Alexander played like an All-Pro corner. Last season, it took the Vikings a few weeks to get going. It could be a similar situation this year.
