WR Chad Williams (ARI)

If it’s not Williams, who exactly are the #2 and #3 wide receivers for the Arizona Cardinals?

Obviously Larry Fitzgerald is the team’s #1 option at wideout, but behind him? No one is really sure. It was supposed to be JJ Nelson. There was a chance it could have been Brice Butler. Christian Kirk is an impressive rookie and (likely) has a firm grasp on the #2 spot, but that still leaves another receiving option open for the Cardinals.

Enter Chad Williams.

Williams was a 2017 3rd round draft pick for the Cardinals, but was out of shape in 2017 and failed to grasp the Arizona playbook, so his time on the field was limited. Now, with a year of NFL experience under his belt, Williams is likely going to find himself as one of the primary reads in the Arizona passing attack (regardless of who is quarterbacking that team).

Williams had the combine measureables you would hope to see in a #2 receiver: decent speed, strength, etc. He’s almost assured an expanded role in the Arizona offense in 2018, and that’s evidenced by the fact he failed to see the field for risk of injury in the Cardinals’ final preseason game.
