3 perfect targets for the Chargers with the No. 37 pick in the NFL Draft

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Jake Fromm, Quarterback, Georgia

One potential option would be Georgia’s Jake Fromm, who could slide in as a young project at quarterback. Many believe the Chargers are destined to take Oregon’s Justin Herbert in the first round, but if they choose to take someone else, Fromm could be an excellent consolation prize at the beginning of the second round.

Fromm flew under-the-radar in 2019 with the Bulldogs. He completed 60.8 percent of his pass attempts for 2,860 yards, 24 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Those numbers aren’t going to drop any jaws, but they are solid.

Los Angeles could go out and sign a quarterback like Tom Brady or even Jameis Winston and focus on developing Fromm. Should they choose to go that route, they likely would not regret it.
