Damon Arnette
Before the 2018 season, the Jets signed Trumaine Johnson to a four-year, $72 million contract. However, after just two seasons with the team, New York released him due to his inability to perform up to the standards of his lucrative contract.
Without Johnson, the Jets are left with Brian Poole, Blessuan Austin, and Nate Hairston at the cornerback position. Seeing that they have a massive need at corner, Damon Arnette would be an ideal selection in the second round.
Arnette was a three-year starter at Ohio State, racking up a total of 22 pass breakups and four interceptions in those three seasons. The former Buckeye is a physical cornerback that excels in man coverage, giving Gregg Williams an upgrade in his secondary.
