3. Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears roster contains many superior pieces, needing just minimal acquisitions to become a playoff contender. Although, the position they need the most help at is the quarterback. Chicago enters the offseason just one year removed from a 12-4 campaign and an appearance in the Wild Card round. So what must they do to get back?
Mitchell Trubisky now has three years under his belt, and the jury is clearly out on him in Chicago. Adding Bridgewater to Matt Nagy’s offense where gadget plays and motions are oftenly used, would allow him to open up the playbook enough to where Nagy could flex his muscles with his dynamic playcalling.
Chicago is already very dependent on its defensive performance, needing just an adequate quarterback to display a balanced attack. Last season, the Bears ranked 29th in total offense and still won eight games. With an improvement to the offense, they just may find their way back into a similar situation as the 2018 season where they punched their ticket to the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
If Teddy Bridgewater finds a new home in Chicago, he’d have a tremendous amount of speedy weapons to his disposal such as Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, and Cordarrelle Patterson. From a pocket passing standpoint, he’s never been considered a gunslinger, but with the skill players on the roster, Bridgewater would just have to get the ball to the playmakers and let them go to work in the open field.
